전치사

전치사는 크게 해석을 안하는 경우와 해석을 하는 경우로 나뉜다. 해석을 하는 경우는 무난한 경우와 함정인경우가 있다.

1.전치사의 특징

1) 전치사 뒤에는 명사형태가 온다

전치사 + N / Ving / 명사절 ( who what when where how why whether)

it 과 that 앞에는 전치사가 오지 못한다

cf) except that ~라는 점을 제외하고 in that ~라는 점에서

2) 전치사는 형용사와 부사 역할을 한다

be critical of ~을 비판하다

be deal with ~을 해결하다

in response to ~에 응답해서

2. 전치사의 종류 1) 시간전치사

1) 시간 표현에 따라 쓰는 전치사는 각각 다르다

at + 시점/정확한 시점

on + 날짜/요일/주중/주말

in + 월/연도/계절/세기

2) 시점/기간을 나타내는 전치사는 구분해서 정리한다

when~ 언제로 물을 때 정답이 되는 표현 '시점'

how long~얼마나 오랫동안 으로 물을 때 정답이 되는 표현 '기간'

시점 since ~이래로 by ( = no later than) ~까지 until ~까지 before ~전에 from ~부터 starting (on) ~부터

기간 within ~이내에 for ~동안에 during ~동안에 over ~동안에 ~이상 throughout ~내내

*after + 시점/기간 

3. 전치사의 종류 2) 장소전치사

1) 장소에 따라 스는 전치사는 각각 다르다

in + 공간

시내,도시,국가 앞에 반드시 in

at + 지점

on + 표면

2) 위치나 방향을 나타내는 전치사는 구분해서 정리한다

to ~로 ~에게 from ~로부터 beside/next to ~옆에 near 가까이에 within + 장소/범위 ~이내에 throughout ~곳곳에 ~에 걸쳐 across ~을 건더 ~곳곳에 under (=underneath)/below ~밑어 above/over ~위에 beyond ~너머 into ~속으로 out of ~의 밖으로 along ~을 따라 against ~에 맞서서, ~에 기대어 through + 과정 ~을 거쳐 +시간 ~의 끝까지, 내내 +수단 ~을 통해 go(pass) through ~을 통해가다/겪다

4. 전치사의 종류 3) 기타빈출전치사

for ~을 위해서 with ~와 함께 ~을 가지고 있는 ~인 채로 from ~로부터 of ~의 as (자격)~로서 without ~없이 following ~에 이어 alongside ~옆에 나란히 unlike ~와는 다르게 pending ~가 있을 때까지 including ~을 포함하여 pertaining to ~에 관련하여

about/as to/as for/regarding/in(with) regard to/concerning/on ~에 대해

besides/in addition to/ plus/as well as. aside from/apart for/on top of ~뿐만 아니라

except(for)/aside from/apart form ~을 제외하고

along with/ together with ~와 더불어. ~와 함께
